never broken a bone
crashed a car
lost a home
survived a natural disaster
but my heart
my soul
my time
my mind
they've been through the ringer
imploded, exploded, thrown in a blender
just like the song by Eve 6
sent to oblivion

a father with parkinson's
gone when i was 30
not long after
a breakup of toxic relationship
i was blind to the entire time
for six years prior
taking care of him
middle of the night clean up
six years after
recovering from it all

a mother with multiple issues
a bag to change
a life to worry
my self allowing me
to smash upon invisible walls
dusting off
getting back up
again and again

the years in between
discovery, recovery
accidents of the life
we all live
choices made
scattered dreams

yet still standing
ready to do it all again
and more

This is so well written and so very raw and poignant. Like Dan I love the last bit so much. Still standing and ready to do it all again 💪

The quiet courage of caring is perfectly documented here, Reid. Bravo! For caring. Bravo! For telling it so beautifully. Bravo! For having that quiet courage.

Bravo!👏❤👏

Thank you, Reid.
I will look you up on Instagram. Thank you for the invite. And Facebook. Though, you might not like me on FB. I tend to be a bit more out there than I am anywhere else. :-)

I'll be around, might even Home Game if the prompt prompts me. Hang in there. :-)

You haven't weathered natural disasters, but you've cared for two ailing parents and that takes such an emotional and physical toll. Knowing that you would do it all over again speaks of very strong character!

Caring for parents is heroic and not everyone can do it. This was wonderful of you, and you have my respect.
