You may or may not know that I went to culinary school. While in Culinary school I learned a lot but I also learned that I like to take my own road with cooking. I tried working back of house in kitchens, but the factory like work and creating someone elses recipes to a tee just wasn't the kind of work for me in a field that screamed for creativity. I could do it in an office or when needed to survive menial labor or retail, but nothing in the creative field. Anything in that field in which my gears turned but I couldn't contribute was not a position for me. I've been lucky to do private catering, but my truest dream has always been a pop-up that I made whatever my whim was and groceries supplied. Almost like say any cooking competition show but with no rules or regulations, just my mind and my skills and your trust.

I've had this dream for various businesses actually. Travel agency (there is actually a company that exists like this, they plan your destination and itinerary), but your trusting my research and your coming to me because you want the trip I would plan based on just some select concepts of your desires but also that you more so want to experience MY desires, then I could take more trips and discover more things for other people to do.

This would work for a publishing company, a film and television studio, etc. Just... trust me, because you do, because if I steer you wrong or you don't like what I create for you, then you are 1 of billions. I just need that first opportunity with each individual. Which when you think about it other than saying how you like your meat cooked, or that you'd like a specific genre, or that you have a barest concept, you are essentially with everything you don't make yourself, trusting someone else.

I just want that extra step of trust though. Frequently I get it, especially when putting together plans for friends, but not ALWAYS and frequently when they don't just relinquish everything to me or make me feel like I need to go with parts of their plan even when it goes against my judgment, ending up with me making a plan for me and myself and my friends after saying “We should've just listened to you”. I'm talking about the past here, not the present. That's only cause my life as a whole has changed so much.

Yet, still, if you'd just trust me to tell you what movie to watch, what game to play, what book to read or just let me make you a meal and trust my weirdness (outside of my allergies and yours), we'd all just be so much better off. You could even trust me to tell you what to write, but my main tip for that is, write what you know. I know nonsense, poetry and memoir. I'm also fairly good at a review of something I enjoyed when I choose to tackle it.

We are in an amazing time for streaming entertainment, especially for someone deep into comics and the media created from it. With Agatha All Along on Disney+ and The Penguin on HBOMAX we have alternative versions of stories told in some way from Marvel and DC respectively, allowing new fans and old to discover something almost with same information other than some recognition. Those two shows along with The Franchise which pokes fun at the production end of shows like these bigger franchise partners major films, yet while also given fans an entirely new comics universe that if the show is successful enough can be explored as all evidence points to a full bible for the Maximum Comicsverse. Yes indeed, a wonderful time to be a fan of... fandom.

I love your pop up restaurant idea! I always choose chef's choice sort of things when available as long as they take allergies into account. I end up eating some excellent dishes that I never would have chosen on my own. :)

I haven't gone out to a fancy dancy spot that exists like in my mind in awhile, but boy do I want to. I'd love to get to be in the audience of one of those cooking shows where the audience also gets to try the food, as long as its not seafood or has cherries (my allergies are dumb, cause I love both taste wise).

I love that travel agency idea so much. I'm very adventurous and love the idea of having a blind date with a holiday so to speak!

The following google search will provide you with tons of agencies who do blind trips. So blind you don't even find out where you're going till you're AT the airport.

This is NOT what I want to do. I want to create your vacation but truly on your interests and desires. I've done the surveys for these sites and found them limiting and also the idea of not knowing where I'm going in advance is not my cup of tea. I am too much a planner and researcher to let someone else choose for me, so much so I'd hapilly work for one of these companies, but never buy from them.

I used to dream that I'd win the lottery and take a trip to NYC and have you as my tour guide. :-) Your adventures and photos always intrigued me.

This is not likely now, even if I win the lottery. ;-)

So, here's the deal. Knowing what you know of me, I trust you to recommend a movie. (I have Canadian: Netflix, Prime and Tubi.) Have at it, Reid! I will watch it.

So this is gonna be difficult as Canadian versions of those channels are actually different than the US versions. Even on a VPN it'd only show me what was available globally, especially Netflix, but I will work on recommendations and hope they are available on your version.
I would assume in terms of Prime, if it was made for Prime it's on Canadian Prime, so...
comedy horrors My Best Friend's Exorcism (based on the book by Grady Hendrix, one of my favorite authors) and Totally Killer (horror and time travel yet also parody of 80s films) are both fantastic.
The TV series UPLOAD is a grounded sci-fi comedy about life after death and future capitalism.
Canary Black, an espionage movie with Kate Beckinsdale just came out and my mom loved it, so...

I would be a very unsatisfying customer for you! As a super-taster, I tend to be picky about food. I'm very much a "sauce on the side" person. If it turns out I like it, no harm done. But if I really don't, then it hasn't contaminated the food to where I can't enjoy it.

Thank goodness there are tons of people who aren't me, and enjoy just about anything!

No, for the extra labor involved. When I cook I generally make the dish and the sauce together so that the protein gets those flavors inbedded.

Well have you seen GOON amd/or GOON:Last of the Enforcers ?
Seann William Scott, a much beloved actor of fandom, played a bouncer turned defensive minor league hockey player. Co-written by Jay Baruchel who is also a major fandom person and based off a book about a real life player (very based but the person who the book is about loved the translation to fictional world).

If you love Ice Hockey, check it out. Ya know, if you trust me.

Yeah - I didn't know hockey until I moved up to Minnesota and married a man who played Defense in High School (and loose games afterwards).. I got pulled into hockey with the MN North Stars and have continued that joy with the Wild. There's just nothing quite like hockey. It's a LONG season, the guys play a LOT of minutes on the ice, and they're in some serious physical conditioning. My oldest grand-nephew is a very successful Junior High and High School goalie who is already being scouted by colleges, even though he's just a Freshman in High School. It's quite possible he will go places with his love for the game.

Meanwhile, I'm a "Broncos FanGirl" and am "Wild For the Wild". LOL

Culinary school would be fun - I do the household cooking and I would love to learn what I should be doing. You have lived an interesting life.

It's been a life, just bouncing around here and there trying everything I can in my zone to at least have a life to speak of. There are times I wish I chose one path, just did that, found my way and was settled. My brain didn't allow it. Or my soul.

Just trust me, do what I say, and everything will be better! :) That's a hard concept to sell, but you're right, all too often that's exactly what we're doing anyway.
